FINAL CHANCES FOR SENIOR PHOTOS

On Monday, January 4th, from 11:00 am - 2:30 pm, in the new gym, will be the final chance for seniors to have the three photos taken that are needed for the yearbook.  Please click on the link below to sign up and  then fill out link on the sign up page.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DAY:

Thank you for choosing the time for your portraits! Please fill in this form with your contact information and the time you signed up. ARRIVE 5 MINUTES EARLY and be READY TO GO! If late, you may loose your spot. Come dressed in your formal wear, make up done, ready to go! Please use your non DISD email in order for you to get your responses to this form sent back to you.

First Photo will be you in your FORMAL wear. (Dress like you are going to a wedding or a important job interview. Photos will be from the waist up. NO T-SHIRTS will be allowed for formal shot. See examples below)

Second Photo: You will put on a graduation GOWN over your formal wear. We will provide a gown to wear for the photo. If you have your own, you can wear it!

Third Photo: This is for the panorama. You can bring your senior shirt to change into, or team uniform or any other casual (but appropriate) shirt.

Lastly, send a scanned photo of yourself, between ages 2 - 8, in an email to woodrowportraits@gmail.com. If you can't get it scanned, then bring a COPY (because it won't be returned) to this photo session in an envelope with your full name written on the back of the photo. We must receive your childhood photo by JANUARY 4th in order for it to be included in the yearbook.

If you didn't sign up for the senior photos by the deadline listed below, you are on the waitlist.  We had over 100 spots available last week that weren't used.  We will try to squeeze you in on Wednesday between scheduled appointments.  Plan on being there for the hour in which you put your name.  Do not miss as there aren't retakes due to deadlines.

Attention!  Details about December 16th:

Wednesday, December 9th and Wednesday, December 16th, are the days for Senior photos for the yearbook!  We are doing something special this year to help celebrate our Seniors.  

Choose which day and what time your appointment will be to have your senior portrait, graduation gown and Panorama photo taken in the new gym!    Please sign up by 11:59 pm Monday, December 7th.

Click on the date and session you will be signing up for.  Place your name and ID in an available time slot. After filling in a time slot with your name and ID number, click on the link in Column F, fill out the form and follow the instructions for the day of the photo shoot.  Both of these actions (filling in spread sheet with info and filling out the form) MUST take place to sign you up for an appointment.

*While our initial intentions were to photograph cap and gown photos, it wasn't possible to take the photos with the caps on because the cap was too hard to sanitize and would cause extended periods of close proximity between the helpers and the students trying to get the caps and hair just right.

Yearbook Distribution Part 2

Thank you to everyone who came and picked up their Yearbook!  

It was so good to see so many half faces!  The best part of school is you, the students and we have missed you terribly!  

Thank you also to Mandy Allen, Becky Daniel, Tony Benedetto, Dan Garrison, Debra Bishop and former Yearbook editor, Laney Smith for all your help in distributing the yearbook!

These people were invaluable for making the distribution go smoothly!  I am so thankful for how they came and worked so hard.

Yearbook Distribution Part 2 will take place after August 23rd.   There will be times the week of August 24 - 28 where pick up will be available for all pre-orders as well as anyone wanting to purchase a book.  Check back here to find out the details as they become available.

A.   Seniors (Class of 2020) with last name alpha A - M come 9:00 am - 10:30 am. 

B.   Seniors (Class of 2020) with last name alpha N - Z come 10:30 am -12:00 pm

The protocol would be:

All students need to bring ID

Upon arriving, text to (214-587-7424) your:

• 1. Last name, First Name
• 2. ID
• 3. Grade
• 4.  Car make and color (the car you are picking the yearbook up in, so we can identify it)

A helper will bring the yearbook to your car, show your ID, take your yearbook and you can head home!

If you can’t make it in person and you wish to have someone else pick up your yearbook for you, you must send an email to (kelemen.woodrow@gmail.com) with the person’s name and a sentence granting them permission to pick up yearbook, including your name, grade and ID.

Online Ordering Ended and Distribution Update

As of June 25, 2020, all online ordering for yearbooks ceased due to DISD regulations.  Any remaining yearbooks will be sold during distribution or when the new school year begins on a cash only basis, as of right now.  We still have about 50 yearbooks left to sell.

We plan on distributing yearbooks, first to seniors, then to underclassmen during the week of August 4-7, off campus.  Check back here for the latest updates.

Postponement of Yearbook Distribution

Dear Wildcat Family,

I am sadden to say that distribution of the yearbook will have to be postponed until August.  In just the last day or two, the District has shut down all activities at the campus level.  Here is the message I have received from administration:

“DISD is shutting down all strength and conditioning until further notice. Other summer practices or camps are all on hold. Central staff return has been pushed back to 8/3. We’re going to have to hold off on bringing people to school or having any contact for a while.”

In these unprecedented times, we have had to adjust and move with the ever changing landscape.  Please continue to check back on this site for updated news.  Our goal, if all things open back up, would be to have a distribution day in early August for all 2020 Seniors, to get their yearbooks before they head off to college.  Hopefully we can still have the Senior Signing Celebration then.  Underclassmen distribution would follow, later that day or the next day.

I realize this is a huge disappointed to all, none more than our yearbook staff who worked so hard, producing the best book they could for everyone.  They are so anxious to get the yearbook into everyone’s hands.  Our hope is that you all remain safe and healthy and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Yearbook Distribution Update 6/23/2020

Word from the publishers, Herff Jones, is that Woodrow's yearbook will ship out on June 27th, 2020. That means they should arrive a few days later and yearbook distribution will be scheduled for Wednesday, July 1 or Thursday, July 2.

The plan is to have Seniors come from 10:00 - 11:30 am and Underclassmen to pick up books from 1:00 - 2:30 pm.  Please check back here for more updates to find out which day it will be or contact Mr. Kelemen at kelemen.woodrow@gmail.com, if you have more questions.

All books must be purchased through the online ordering site, listed on a previous update.

Any yearbooks not picked up on the distribution date will have to pick them up once school is back in August.

Purchasing Portraits!

You can purchase your daughter or son's portrait from the link to the right.  If you are using a mobile phone for this you need to click on the "view web version" for all tabs to the right.  Here is the URL for the site:  https://woodrowwildcats.smugmug.com/Portraits-2019-2020

All you need is the password to login.  It's really simple and will remain the same all 4 years of high school.  The password is the phrase:  classof20...   and whatever their graduation year is.  For example, Senior password is classof2020, Junior password is classof2021, etc...

Make sure it's all one word and lower case!

Yearbook:  $80  (any enrolled student from 2019-2020 school year)
Yearbook Staff:  $40 (any yearbook staff member who completed the 2019-2020 school year on staff)
Yearbook Teacher:  $50  (any staff person from the 2019-2020 school year)

Last Name and First Name are required for all staff.
Last Name, First Name, Student ID are required for all others.

Yearbook Sales Update 5/18/2020

As of Saturday May 16, 2020, the www.yearbookordercenter.com website from the production company, Herff Jones, is closed.  Please do not try to order from that website.

We are trying to coordinate, with DISD, an online site for purchasing one of the remainder yearbooks.  If that cannot happen, we will be selling yearbooks on distribution day for $80 (cash only).  Any books not sold online can be purchased in this way.

Once all the books are sold, no more can be produced so make you check back here for online ordering or be one of the first people in line on distribution day.  Keep checking back here for the latest updates!  Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions (rkelemen.woodrow@gmail.com).

Yearbook Distribution Update

The company that produces our yearbook, Herff Jones, was closed until Monday, May 4th, because of the COVID 19 shutdown.  Due to the lost 5 weeks of production, the shipping of Woodrow's yearbook was pushed back until June 27, 2020.  

Right now, we anticipate distribution of the yearbook to occur between the week of June 30 - July 3.  Our hope is to distribute them for SENIORS, on the morning of July 2 from 10:00 - 12:00 and to the underclassmen from 1:00 - 3:00.  This is a tentative schedule.  Please check back here for updates.
